FREE WORKSHOP: Understanding Sensory Processing

Contact for Families is a support group for families with young people with SEN

They are running a free workshop on understanding sensory processing :

"Often people with additional needs have different sensory perceptions of the world and they may find it difficult to process the information they receive through their senses. Understanding your child’s sensory profile (and your own) can help with developing approaches to reduce stress and promote wellbeing; supporting all areas of life, including behaviour, communication, sleep and learning.

Sensory needs are often the reason for anyone with developmental or neurological diversity to experience anxiety. It is also the reason they may respond differently to the world, in a way that may be problematic and pose risks to themselves or to the people around them.

This session, on Thursday 18 July, looks at the impact of sensory needs through these challenging times on people with sensory needs, their families and the people who support them. It will look to provide an insight into the difficulties and some key strategies to support wellbeing.
